Eating out in Melbourne? Check out RSPCA Choose Wisely

Good morning lovely people! I have a little campaign I wanted to share with you all today, It’s called “Choose Wisely” and was launched a couple of weeks ago by the RSPCA.

It’s essentially a go-to foodie guide to find your nearest humanely-accredited restaurant or café (pretty cool idea huh?!). By “Choosing Wisely,” Australians are ensuring that the meat, eggs and dairy products they eat have come from a humane source.

I jumped on and had a good stalk of the website, it’s super easy to use and I was able to easily find a lot of humanely-accredited restaurants right on my doorstep.

Here’s how it works:

The growing trend in food provenance is moving beyond the weekly farmers’ markets and going mainstream. Research shows that a whopping 85% of Australians agree it’s important that the meat, eggs and dairy products sold in Australia are farmed in a humane way. Even major supermarkets have been making this shift to meet consumer demand (yay!).

I think RSPCA’s Choose Wisely initiative is a fantastic step towards a more humane Australia. By using Choose Wisely and supporting those businesses committed to putting humane food on the menu, we can make a huge difference to the welfare of farm animals.

PS – it’s not just a tool to find Melbourne restaurants and cafes, you can find businesses all over Australia!
