Yarra Valley Spotlight: The Balgownie Estate Vineyard

Last weekend, my boyfriend and I spent a night at The Balgownie Estate Vineyard and Spa, this was our second visit there over the past few months and I wanted to let you all know about this gem in the Yarra Valley (a little over an hour out of Melbourne).

The vineyard and hotel is in a gorgeous setting with accommodating and friendly staff. When we arrived to our room on our first visit there were a couple of minor things missing like shampoo and a coffee machine however when we rang reception they sent them up straight away with a complimentary bottle of wine, great service from front of house management! (and the wine they sent up was amazing!)

We have stayed in both the privilege  spa room and the one bedroom spa room and both were great. They were clean and had everything we needed.

There are a few great walks around the area and if you walk up to the lookout at about 5.00pm you will see an amazing 180 degree view over the Yarra Valley (next time I would pack rug and picnic and have dinner up there, it was very cool.

The famous Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery is just up the road as well as some of my favourite breweries and wineries: Napoleone Brewery & CiderhouseDomaine Chandon and Rochford Wines.

I’ll keep this review nice and quick – Overall the hotel is in a great location and is the perfect place to go for a relaxing weekend away (and to drink wine!).

Please note: This is not a sponsored post. In all honestly I just really liked the service, location and hotel and wanted to share it with you all!
