A kiwi engagement party

On the weekend we celebrated our engagement party – kiwi style! One positive of being in a relationship where you are from different countries is that you get to host two amazing engagement parties in each place. To kick things off we had a backyard party for our closest kiwi friends and family. It was such a great day, we had grazing platters, meat cooking on the webers, delicious food, great entertainment (by Dave’s dad) and ice cold drinks – check out the pallet bar Dave made below! We bought some kegs and connected them up to the bar through a tap system – it was an absolute hit.

There was Pimms on ice, a delicious carrot cake that my sister-in-law Laura made (see above) and my mum and sisters even visited all the way from Australia. The party started at 3pm and went all night – a few of us ended up in the pool at midnight which to me is an indication of a pretty great time!

Thank you to everyone who has celebrated with us or sent us well-wishes. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends. Check out some photos below:
